About Us
Moote headquarters
Moote Electric, Inc. has grown from its beginnings as a one-man, one-truck electrical service company to an electrical construction contracting business. Our success has been due in large part to the hundreds of loyal employees of Moote Electric and to four men who shared a belief in the basic values of honest, hard work, and professionalism.
THE MOOTE YEARS, 1930-1958
The company’s founder, Fred W. Moote opened Fred W. Moote Electrical Service in 1930. Moote, a master electrician who specialized in household service, began his career working out of his own truck. Moote Electric’s business grew to include appliance service and later appliance sales. In 1956, Moote incorporated the company as Fred W. Moote Electrical, Inc By late 1957, appliance sales had been phased out. The company’s primary business was still household work that was performed from a fleet of five trucks, but new opportunities were developing in the industrial electrical construction business. Moote’s experience in the technical work that industrial contracting demanded was limited, so he sought someone who would bring with him both, the technical experience needed and contacts in the industrial construction and maintenance fields. He placed a newpaper ad seeking a partner with those qualifications. The ad was answered by Bill Satterfield. In 1965, Fred Moote resigned as president.
